The Competent Crew course is designed for students that have been sailing a few times and now want to learn in a structured manner the basics to then move forward to the Day Skipper
Knowledge of sea terms and parts of a boat, her rigging and sails, sail handling, ropework, fire precautions and fighting, personal safety equipment, man overboard, emergency equipment, meteorology, seasickness, helmsmanship, general duties, manners and customs, rules of the road, dinghies
Ability after course:
By the end of this 5 day course you will have literally ‘learned the ropes’ and have a good understanding of what it takes to crew a modern yacht.
